UP Polls: BSP Leader Khwaja Samsuddin Will Fight Against Yogi Adityanath From Gorakhpur

The Bahujan Samaj Party on Saturday released a list of 54 candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The party has fielded a Muslim candidate, Khwaja Samsuddin against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur Urban constituency.

Khwaja Samsuddin has been affiliated with the BSP for the last 15 years. He started as a BSP worker and now is the sector in charge of the party in the Gorakhpur region. It is also said that Samsuddin is close to BSP supremo Mayawati. Khwaja Samsuddin also contested the councilor elections in the year 2000 from the party symbol.

According to Ashok Siddharth, chief sector in charge and in-charge of BSP in Gorakhpur region, Mayawati has given a ticket to Samsuddin as he is an old party worker. “He has been working with the party for the last 15 years and has a stronghold among workers and at booth level. This will ensure Samsuddin’s victory”, said Ashok.

As per the information, the party has given attention to most of the Muslim candidates in ticket distribution.

In its latest list, the BSP has given tickets to seven Muslim candidates.

The Assembly election in Gorakhpur is scheduled to be held in the sixth phase on March 3. The Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2022 will be held from February 10 in seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
