Indian equities closed higher for the fourth straight day on Friday, led by gains in IT, Realty, and PSU Bank stocks.
The Sensex rose 384.72 points to close the day at 57,315.28, while the Nifty was up 96.35 points or 0.57% at 17,051.80.
On the Nifty, Powergrid, IOC, ONGC, ITC and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers, while Divi’s Lab, JSW Steel, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, and Ultratech Cement fell the most.
All sectoral indices ended in the green with Realty, IT, PSU Bank up 1-3%. Meanwhile, 21 of 30 Sensex stocks ended in the green.
Hero MotoCorp will make an upward revision in the ex-showroom prices of its motorcycles and scooters, with effect from January 4, 2022, the company informed the stock exchanges on Thursday.
