Coronavirus: India Reports 9,216 New Covid-19 Cases, 391 Deaths In Last 24 hours

India reported 9,216 fresh Covid-19 cases and 391 deaths in 24 hours on Friday. The country’s cumulative caseload now stands at 3,46,15,757. The total reported death count is 4,70,115.

At present, India’s active caseload stands at 99,976. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 213.

The recovery rate in the country is 98.35 per cent. A total of 8,612 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 3,40,45,666 across the country.

Of the 9,216 fresh cases registered on Friday, the maximum cases were registered in Kerala at 4,700, followed by Maharashtra with 796 cases, Tamil Nadu with 715 cases, West Bengal with 657 cases and Karnataka with 363 cases.

78.47 per cent of the new cases on Friday were reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 51 per cent of them.

The maximum Covid-19 casualties in the last 24 hours were reported in Kerala (320), followed by Maharashtra with 24 deaths.

India administered a total of 73,67,230 Covid-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally of doses administered in the country to 1,25,75,05,514.

Meanwhile, a total of 11,57,156 samples were tested for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
