Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad on Tuesday said that his party will fight the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on its own and would not enter into an alliance with the Samajwadi Party.
He declared candidates on 33 seats at a press conference in Greater Noida. He said that these are mostly the seats on which there were talks of an alliance but we were later betrayed. Without naming Akhilesh Yadav and the Samajwadi party he said that there were discussions on 25 seats. “I was given assurance that there would no cheating…but now it’s about honour even if they call and give a hundred seats we would not enter into an alliance with them.”
However, he added that options are open for other small parties. “My fight is with RSS and BJP and after the election, we are ready for an alliance to stop them,” he said.
Thirty per cent seats would be given to Dalits, fifty per cent to backward classes, including both Hindus and Muslims, he said.
