Calling Akhilesh Yadav an ‘automatic machine of telling lies’, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya cornered the Samajwadi Party chief over his promise of providing free electricity if voted to power in the upcoming state assembly elections.
On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav announced that 300 units of electricity would be given free to the people of Uttar Pradesh.
Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted, “Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has become an automatic machine of telling lies. During his tenure, electricity, poles and transformers were missing and today that person is telling white lies about free electricity. The public is making fun of SP’s false promises.”
After promising 300 units of free power to domestic consumers on coming to power, Akhilesh Yadav said that the party will launch a campaign from Wednesday for people to get themselves registered to avail the facility.
“Those having domestic connections in their names or those who plan to take it in future should get themselves registered by filling the form from tomorrow for availing the benefit of 300 unit free electricity when the Samajwadi Party comes to power,” the SP president told media.
The election to all 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7.
