Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday filed his nomination to contest as BJP candidate from the Sankhli constituency.
Sawant had won the 2012 and 2017 assembly elections and later, he was elevated to the position of chief minister of the state after the demise of former chief minister Manohar Parrikar in 2019.
“I have filed my nomination. There is enthusiasm among karyakartas and with this same enthusiasm we will once again win from Sankhli with a huge margin,” he said.
Sawant filed his nomination in the presence of Goa BJP election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis. Sawant said that not only he will win in Sankhli but BJP will win with an absolute majority in Goa with 22-plus seats.
Sawant said that during the 2017 assembly election, BJP had won all three seats in Bicholim taluka and this time too it will win all three constituencies including Mayem,
Bicholim, and Sankhli.
Sawant said that Fadnavis is guiding the entire team of BJP in Goa for the election. He exuded confidence that with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda BJP will once again form a double-engine government in Goa.
“To make Goa self-reliant, people of Goa will vote for BJP and will get us elected with an absolute majority,” Sawant said.
Sawant said that AAP and TMC have come to Goa for experimenting but people of Goa have faith in BJP. When asked whether BJP is facing anti-incumbency, Sawant said, “instead of anti-incumbency, I would say that whatever development has been carried out by the double engine government, it will benefit BJP in Goa.”
