Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the 12km stretch of the Pune Metro Rail project in the city. The project is being built at a cost of more than Rs 11,400 crore. Modi also unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the premises of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Symbiosis Arogya Dham at Lavle campus. Founder SB Mujumdar Subhash Desai and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis were present at the event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a fleet of 150 electric buses, manufactured by Olectra Green, for public transport. Besides, Modi also inaugurated a state-of-the-art electric bus depot and charging station in the Baner locality of Pune during an event, the Hyderabad-based manufacturer of e-buses said in a statement. Olectra currently operates 150 e-buses in the city for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML).
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has decided to stay away from the mega event. While the Shiv Sena cited no reason for his skipping the event, party leaders said the Chief Minister wants to send out a strong message to the Prime Minister that ‘whatever his government is doing against Sena and MVA leaders, he has not liked it one bit.’
