The Philadelphia 76ers won without star center Joel Embiid Monday, beating the hapless Kings 102-94 in Sacramento.
Embiid missed his eighth straight game after entering the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Andre Drummond had nine points and 23 rebounds in Embiid’s place as starting center for the Sixers, who were led by Tyrese Maxey’s 24 points.
De’Aaron Fox paced the Kings with 23 points in their first game under interim head coach Alvin Gentry. Gentry, formerly the team’s associate coach, took over for the fired Luke Walton on Sunday. Sacramento is 6-12 on the season after their eighth loss in nine games.
